Mortgage Loan Originator (Consumer Direct)

The Inside Sales Mortgage Loan Originator will work to provide loan solutions for existing and prospective customers of Valon Mortgage. This individual will report to the Originations Manager and be responsible for providing best-in-class customer service to support Valon’s strategic goals. The primary objective of this role will be to recapture future purchase and refinance loans for customers with mortgages within Valon’s servicing portfolio, strengthening both customer and investor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend loan solutions to Valon’s existing portfolio of servicing and prospective customers sourced through strategic initiatives
  • Refer products and develop solutions tailored to the customers’ specific goals
  • Be the primary point of contact throughout the lending journey with Valon
  • Collect and analyze customer financial documentation as required by investor guidelines
  • Make 50-100 outbound calls to company supplied leads
  • Manage customer pipeline to maintain efficiency, meet required pull-through ratios and production targets
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-team members to move milestones forward efficiently
  • Escalate customer concerns to management to ensure the customer is presented with timely solutions

Required Background

  • 2+ years of mortgage origination experience
  • 2+ years consumer direct mortgage experience (required)
  • Outbound sales call experience (50-100 dials a day)
  • NMLS eligible throughout employment
  • Multiple active state licenses per NMLS

Ideal Background

  • 3+ years of mortgage origination experience
    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • NMLS license and be an MLO of good standing in the licensed state(s)
  • Understanding of mortgage industry federal regulation including RESPA, TILA, ECOA, TRID, CFPB, etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of underwriting process and agency/investor requirements
  • Experience with industry technology (DU, LP, Encompass, CRM, etc.)
  • Strong communicator with excellent writing skills
  • High integrity with strong ethical values
  • Team player with ability to work effectively with cross-team members
  • Eager to join a highly dynamic team and play a role in a high-growth, transformative project
